ETNO / ETHNO: VUČ V VODO / LIGHT IN THE WATER
TRŽIČ, 11. 3. 2016: Tradicionalni dogodek Vuč u vodo v Tržižu na predvečer Gregorjevega naznanja prihod pomladi in daljših dni. V tržiču so bili to pač čevljarji. Letos so učenci in učitelji Osnovne šole Tržič izdelali kar 750 gregorčkov, s čimer so se hoteli vpisati v Guinessovo knjigo rekordov.

TRŽIČ, SLOVENIA - MARCH 11, 2016: Hundreds of people have gathered in Tržič, Slovenia, at a traditional event called Light in The Water, on the eve of St. Gregory’s Day that used to signify the start of spring. During this event, people bring their model houses and other objects that they built themselves out of paper and other materials, put candles in them and release them in the water. Hence the name Light in The Water. In the past, March 11 was the start of spring and because days were longer now and there was more light, the shoemakers of Tržič didn’t need to work under artificial light anymore, thus the symbolic throwing of light in the water. Tržič is famous for its shoemaking tradition. This year, the Tržič elementary school decided to build 750 model houses in an attempt to set a Guinness world record. Their model houses were on display at an exhibition in front of the school.
